- ARTWORK -
I've been drawing and designing illustrations for over 6 years now, releasing under the clunky pseudonym "unamusedpirate" on twitter. This website is a way to group everything together and allow commissions for any design work that someone may want me to do for them.
I'm completely self-taught, and have no formal qualifications in any relevant field, but during my time in college I realized I had a passion for digital artwork that I wasn't aware of. From that point onward I worked hard to find my style and specialties, which by this point I'm fairly sure I've found comfortably.
Generally speaking, my area of focus currently is in realistic figure based portraiture, with a heavy focus on minimalism (less colors, little detail).
I've done work for a handful of various personalities/groups around the web, which has always been a really pleasant thing to experience. The most major commission I took was the logo and thumbnail design job from Ethan and Hila Klein of
"The H3 Podcast". My design was used from 2016-2019.
My design was viewed by over 150 million people, without them even realizing. I have a separate page on the work I did for them, since it was my first paid commission, and I'm very proud of where my artwork ended up.
If you're interested in requesting a portrait in my style, then head to the commissions and contact page
- VIDEOS -
Click here for more detailed information on my video work.
I've been releasing videos since 2015, again under the pseudonym "unamusedpirate" on YouTube.
The main aim of the videos I make is to show my appreciation for a number of topics, artists or creative works.
Essentially I make tribute videos, but I like to think they hold more value than that, even though they may not.
My most successful video is a feature length "documentary" on my favorite band "Boards of Canada".
Using no narration and hopefully matching the enigmatic nature of the band and their music, I outlined their entire career (mostly) from birth to present, using only music from their discography and archival footage from many different sources.
I take a lot of pride in the smallest of details in these videos, and whilst this does benefit them in a way, it does mean they take a long time to create, despite their sometimes small scope.
I am currently working on two more feature length (90 minute) videos
along with some smaller videos, unfortunately they will take some time to complete since I have a day-job
that takes up most days of the week.
All my videos are based off pre-existing creative content.
Meaning I do not hold the rights necessary to monetize them.
I've made no money from any videos I have made thus far.
Any adverts placed on my videos were placed
by a third party claiming the content.
